He was scheduled to appear in court that morning to hear the recommendation of the jury for his sentence on the Assault 2nd charge.
Edward Hinkle Jr made statements to investigating officers that he wished 'he killed the victim' during the original attack. Hinkle is extremely dangerous and has a violent history.

On July 22, 2010, at about 4:40 a.m., Shawn Gould and his accomplice attacked William Smith, age 61, at his residence in the Cleves, Ohio, area. Mr. Smith was severely beaten and left in lying in a pool of blood in his garage where he was later found by a family member. The two subjects stole two rail buggies (one blue and one yellow) and a 1997 Geo Metro (the Geo has since been recovered). Mr. Smith was transported to University Hospital where he remains unconscious.
Investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Section identified the two subjects as Robert M. Krull and Shawn Michael Gould. On July 28, 2010, at 10:50 a.m., Detectives located and arrested Krull at his residence. Krull is currently lodged in the Hamilton County Justice Center.
Shawn Michael Gould has not been located and is being sought for Felonious Assault and Aggravated Robbery. Gould is described as a white male, age 31, 5’11”, 210 lbs., brown eyes, black hair, and several tattoos.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division is currently investigating the rape of a nine (9) year old girl that occurred over the summer of 2008 and is actively looking for the perpetrator who is on the lam.
Warrants were obtained today for Ricardo Montana, 33, Hispanic male, approximately 5’7” – 5’8”, 165-175 pounds (muscular build), with brown hair and brown eyes. Montana most recently lived at 3401A Queensway Drive in Erlanger, Kentucky and was seen at 1328 Hazen Street in Covington, Kentucky (sister’s house) at approximately 6:30 p.m. yesterday (8/6/08). He is known to drive a blue 1997 Ford Explorer bearing Kentucky license 607-BWF. His victim is a child who was entrusted to his care
The charges on the warrant include Sodomy 1st degree (Class A felony), Sexual Abuse 1st degree (Class C felony), and Unlawful imprisonment 1st degree (Class D felony).
