In Crime stoppers programs worldwide, where cases are tracked, it has been concluded
that 97 percent of the cases, leading to an arrest due to tipster information, results
in a conviction.
There have been no known cases of retaliation against anonymous callers.
There is also a significant amount of cases, wherein the suspects voluntarily
give themselves up to the authorities, after being featured on a Crime Stopper
program provided by the media.
Crime Stoppers has grown from one program in 1976, to over 1,000 in 15 countries today.
