Homicide Unit Investigation

On 12/2/09 at 5:57 PM, Cincinnati Police received a 911 call to 2013 Highland Ave. reference an auto accident with a person injured. District Four Officers along with Cincinnati Fire Personnel responded and located GREG COLLINS, BM53 (8/18/56) unconscious behind the wheel of a 2004 silver Chev. Impala. The preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was northbound on Highland Ave, crossed left of center and struck a parked vehicle facing south bound then rolled backwards down a few houses and struck a house. Mr. Collins was transported to UC Hospital and died a short time later. The Cincinnati Police Traffic Unit was called to investigate the auto accident. On Dec. 3, 2009, an autopsy was performed on Mr. Collins and it was revealed that he died from a single gun shot wound to the chest. At this time the Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.
